Art and Workshops for children and families

Rangoli experience at Institut Francais du Japon, Tokyo

It is said that Buddha used sand to draw mandalas.

The rangolis made by Indian women and children in Indian schools nowadays remind us the fundamental structure of a mandala: a circle in a square and dots to draw symetrical lines or patterns.

The children were invited to invent their own rangolis and use  sands or tinted rice to make it colorful.

Unlike Buddha, they used clue to make it hold!
